Paramyxovirosis in pigeons.

DISEASE DESCRIPTION

Similar to Newcastle virus affects only birds. A few days after contracting the virusspread infection by numerous mucosal of eyelids, nose, pharynx and droppings.

DISEASE SYMPTOMS

Increased thirst, decreased appetite, weight loss and liquid droppings: digestive disorders.
Paralysis in both legs, convulsion, stiff neck, loss of balance or paralysis of wings: nervous disorders.

TREATMENT

Laboratory examination of organ samples (brain, kidney …). Blood samples or bactereological examination of  droppings in sick pigeons.

Antibiotics, amino acids and vitamins to strengthen the body’s defenses. For example: Livimum and Multivitamin B12. Vaccinate apparently healthy pigeons and excluding sick of the dovecot.
